Lawrence W Martin

Lawrence Martin, age 80, of O’Fallon, IL, born on June 29, 1944, in Belleville, IL, died on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Mercy Care Center in Swansea, IL.

Larry grew up in Dupo, IL and after graduating from Dupo High School, he was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his return he married his wife of 55 years, Andrea Chesley. He joined the US Postal Service and was a letter carrier and retired after 30 years of service. He always enjoyed the daily newspaper, watching old westerns, along with many pro sport games, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved road trip vacations with his family, especially their trips to Disney World in Florida. Larry will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ward and Florence Martin, nee Brellinger.

Larry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Andrea J. Martin of O’Fallon, IL; sons, Michael (Heather) Martin of St. Peters, MO, Craig Martin of O’Fallon, IL; grandsons, Jacob Martin and Joshua Martin; brother, Dennis (Linda) Martin of Dupo, IL; sister, Linda Deutschlander of Columbia, IL; Larry was also a loving uncle. 

Visitation will be held 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL.

Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024 at St Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in O’Fallon, IL

Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024 at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in O’Fallon, IL

Burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Shiloh, IL
