Laura Bigham Obituary

Laura Jo Bigham, nee Kramper, age 67, of Fairview Heights IL, born on June 12, 1954, in Belleville, and passed away peacefully on August 14, 2021, after an extended battle with breast cancer. 

Laura worked as a cosmetologist in Mascoutah IL, then moving to Edison Brothers in St. Louis MO, and finally moving to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville IL, serving as a patient account specialist.  Laura also spent a great deal of time serving St. Albert the Great and Holy Trinity Catholic Church, helping with decorations for the liturgical seasons, coordinating weddings, and in various other ways around the church. She was an active member with the TEC Community in the Diocese of Belleville, and the National TEC Community.

Laura was the daughter of the late Henry and Henrietta, nee Wienstroer, Kramper; and was preceded in death by her husband Robert Bigham.

She is survived by her daughters, Megan (Ryan) Sax, nee Bigham and Alicia Bigham; her granddaughters, Callie Kay Sax, and Jana Rae Sax; two sisters, Katherine Kramper of Lively Grove IL, and Marietta Farris of Maple Grove MN; two brothers Thomas (Brenda) Kramper of New Athens IL, and Michael (Connie) Kramper of Nashville IL.  Laura is also survived by a very large and loving extended family.

Donations will be accepted at the mortuary in Laura’s name to the Cancer Care Center of O’Fallon, in the form of memorial masses to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, or to the surviving family.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Visitation will also be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021, with Fr. Jim Nall, and Fr. Jim Long Officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
