Kyle “Chilly Dog” Anthony Eads Sr.
Born July 22nd 1972, in Belleville, Illinois, went out rocking with Ozzy on July 23rd 2025.
Kyle was many things, many of them I can’t say in this article, so *insert preferred adjective here*.
Kyle Anthony Eads was a man of many words and many more horrible jokes. He knew how to light up a room and clear that same room within the hour.
Growing up in Cahokia, Kyle was well known, whether good or bad. His father, Roger Eads Sr., also had a way with people, you either loved him or hated to love him. He grew up doing the things most kids did back then socializing, riding bikes, buying liquor in 8th grade cause he had a full mustache, playing soldiers, finding creeks to swim in, smoking cigarettes; typical kid stuff. Kyle reveled about his years in Cahokia, he truly made many bonds that lasted well into his adult life.
In 1986, the family made the move to Fairview Heights, Illinois. Many things came with this new space including new opportunities, new friends, and the beginning of the next generation. Kyle met Amy in 1986 and from teenage romance stemmed a 25 year marriage with two children (Ky and Alex). Although their marriage did not last forever, the love Amy had for him always did. She became his caretaker for the later years of his life.
Kyle loved working for the family business (JRK Construction and L & E Construction). He worked alongside his brothers, mother, and father for many years as both employee and partial owner. The open road always called him and he loved to answer that call. In September of last year, he spent a final stint on the road and honestly, I truly think it was something he enjoyed even though he wasn’t feeling the best. He had a sense of adventure and he loved to have a good time. He met so many people through trucking whom he considered friends and family.
Many friends will remember house boat trips, camping trips, float trips, days at the Eads Compound, and many a night with a beer in hand and not a care in the world. I love these memories and I’m so thankful to know so many people share them. My dad had his demons, but his spirit always showed through.
He was always the life of the party.
How do you sum up a life lived? No one word or phrase can describe the life of Kyle Eads, but one thing he would want all of you to take with you is this: “live life to the fullest.” Go on that trip, buy the big steak, pay for the experience, and don’t forget to have a laugh and a smile with it.
Kyle was proceeded in death by his parents, Roger D. Eads Sr. and Carol E. Eads. Grandparents: Chester and Mary Eads (paternal) and Octa and Carl Adams (maternal). Aunts and Uncles: Bob (Shirley) Eads and Alvin Eads.
Surviving family includes his sons, Ky Moon and Alex Eads of Fairview Heights, Illinois. Ex-wife and devoted caretaker, Amy Moon of Fairview Heights, Illinois. Brothers: Jason Eads of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Roger Eads (Michelle) of Caseyville, Illinois and sister Tiffanie (Joe Douglas) Eads of Dupo, Illinois. Step-mother; Linda Evans of Dupo, Illinois. Nieces and Nephews: Alexis, Haley, Roger, Carrie. Longtime family friends: David (Kim) Bosler and children: Bailey and Reese of Waterloo, Illinois. and many other dearly loved family members.
Addiction sucks, and in many aspects it took Kyle from us for many years. However, he always made sure we knew he loved us and cared about us. If you or someone you know is fighting a battle against addiction, please get help, it’s never too late. In lieu of flowers, all donations may be made to Illinois Recovery Center.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Please contact Ky or Amy or refer to Kyle’s Facebook page for updates.
