Kevin Jerome Weissert passed away on December 17, 2023 at the age of 61, surrounded by loved ones at home in Belleville, IL.
Kevin was born on November 21, 1962. He was raised by his loving parents, Harold and Verla Weissert, in Fairview Heights, IL. He met his future wife, Diane Madej, when they became neighbors in 1980. They married at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church on July 21, 1984, later welcoming two daughters, Melissa and Jessica. Kevin and Diane were married for 33 happy years until Diane’s passing in 2018.
Kevin spent most of his career working in HVAC and Refrigeration, most notably over 25 years for Schnucks. Kevin was very social and never met a stranger. He loved staying busy and getting his hands dirty. Whether it was helping a friend install a furnace or assisting in a weekend construction project, Kevin was always willing to lend a hand. He found peace working outdoors, fishing at home, and driving his tractors and golf cart. However, his greatest joys in life were his wife and two daughters, working hard to give his family a good life and supporting his daughters' ambitions.
Kevin is preceded in death by his wife and his parents. Those left to mourn Kevin and celebrate his life include his daughters Jessica and her husband Robert Jellen of Maryville, IL, and Melissa and her husband Matthew Turner of Woodbridge, VA, along with many cousins, friends, and neighbors.
