Kenneth J. Murray, age 71, of Caseyville, IL born on October 18, 1954, died on Sunday February 22, 2026, in Caseyville, IL.
Ken grew up in Black Jack, MO. He was a graduate of Our Lady of Loretto grade school, Rosary High School, and the University of Missouri - St. Louis, earning a Bachelor Degree of Science in Economics. He worked and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years.
Ken was an involved father, coaching his kids in basketball and baseball, and he never missed one of his sons’ hockey games. He was a proud grandfather of six, and his most recent years involved reading to and playing with the grandkids in a noisy house. He was a loyal St. Louis Blues and Cardinals fan, even rooting on his baseball team at several Spring Trainings in Florida and at away venues, accompanied by best friends. Ken, and his wife Linda, enjoyed many trips, some of their favorites being to Europe and the Greek Islands.
Ken also enjoyed cars and wood working, with his own shop at home. There was not a more meticulous yard in the area, as he took great pride in his lawn care. He was an avid reader, especially on topics of history, and enjoyed learning new things. His radio was always on classic rock and the oldies, especially the Beatles.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor and quick wit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Marcella, nee Gill Murray; his nephew/godson, Brian Murray; and his sister-in-law, Carol Murray.
Ken is survived by his wife, Linda nee Begole, Murray, his three children; Mark (Jill) Murray, Ryan (Michelle) Murray, and Megan (Greg) Klote; his grandchildren, Jack and Sam Murray, Matthew and Molly Murray and Mary and Jordan Klote; his brothers and sister, Michael Murray, James (Kathy) Murray, and Maryellen (Don) Bowman; and his brother-in-law, Alan Begole.
