Kenneth W. “Kenny Hett” Hettenhausen, age 78, of Swansea, IL, born on September 11, 1947, in Belleville, IL, died on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at his residence.
Kenneth lived a life defined by his passions and the people he loved. He had a lifelong love for baseball and was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. In his younger years , he could often be found playing ball and bowling with friends, forging bonds that spanned decades. In later years, Kenny found great joy living along the Kaskaskia River, where he enjoyed boat races and the peaceful beauty of the water. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends, especially after retirement, treasuring every gathering, laugh, and shared story.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lucille, nee Hanvey Hettenhausen.
Kenneth is survived by his children, Christian Hettenhausen and Heather (Kirk) Kupsky; grandchildren, Brooke (Kyle) Winkler, Justin Cooper, Kaleigh Cooper, Krista Cooper, and Logan Kupsky; great granddaughter, Charlie Elizabeth Winkler; sister, Carolyn (Steve) Long; his former wife and caregiver, Elizabeth Hettenhausen, and many loving family and friends.
A Celebration of Kenny's life will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Moose Lodge #1221, 2425 N. Illinois St., Swansea, IL.
