Katherine Burdick Obituary

Katherine Ann Burdick, nee Nguyen Thi Khanh, age 72, born on February 17, 1950, in Saigon, Vietnam, died on April 22, 2022, after a months-long battle with colon cancer, at her home in Swansea, IL.

Katherine married David Vernon Burdick on February 17, 1967, and became the proud mother of her only child, Natalie.  Katherine was raised by her maternal aunt, Nguyen Thi Bong. Despite being denied the opportunity to go to school, through her tireless efforts she became a successful entrepreneur and small businesswoman. She took pleasure from road trips and traveling abroad with her husband, gardening, watching, and feeding birds, cooking, and eating Vietnamese food, caring for the family's pet rabbit, Binky, and celebrating Christmas. Katherine was a faithful Christian, who was generous and kind to others. She was a devoted wife and mother.

Katherine was preceded in death by her mother, father, and aunt.

She is survived by her husband David; her daughter Natalie; and her son-in-law Peter Kronowitt.
