Judith Ann Gutierrez

Judith Ann Gutierrez, 84, of Windsor IL, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s residence on December 20, 2024.

Judith was born on April 13, 1940, in East St. Louis, she was the daughter of George and Gertrude Pollock who Judith joins in heaven.

Judith was the mother of 3 children; one son, Timothy Gutierrez, her daughters; Martina Gutierrez/Godden and Stephanie Gutierrez who survive. Also Surviving is Judith’s younger sister, Carma Lynn Pollock. Judith has 7 grandchildren; Nicholas Gutierrez(Natalie), Aaron Godden(Morgan), Danielle Godden, Elias Gutierrez, Silas Gutierrez, Blayz Gutierrez and Mathias Gutierrez and 6 great grandchildren; Gadsden Godden, Ayriana Frost, Adelyn Hensley, Julian Gutierrez, Mateo Gutierrez and Lynnley Godden.

Judith led a full life beginning with Catholicism in an all-girls school at St. Teresa’s academy and sororities in the 50’s. After school, she worked in a doctor’s office before she met her husband of 32 years, Manuel Miguel Gutierrez. While married, Judith faced numerous adventures of childcare for acquaintances, shared business experiences of husband’s income tax service, livestock and gardening, produce canning, she was also a self-developed and accomplished seamstress. Later in life, she ventured out into the working world securing jobs as a security guard at Pinkertons and an assembly line worker at Fedders in Effingham.

Judith was a strong-minded, determined, stubborn, stern, independent woman. You didn’t dare pull the wool over her eyes without repercussions. She loved hard and hurt deep. She was a big Elvis Presley lover and enjoyed crocheting, she is leaving beautiful family heirlooms. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her best.

Memorial donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital or to St. Jude Research Hospital.  

Visitation will be held on Friday December 27, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. privately for family.  Public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL 62208.
