Joyce Carolyn Goff, nee Burton, 84, died Sunday, September 19, 2021, at her home in Bethlehem, Georgia. She was surrounded by her three daughters. Joyce was born August 18, 1937, in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Frank "Buster" and Edna Mae, nee Wisehart, Burton. She moved to East St. Louis as an infant and considered that city her hometown. She was a 1955 graduate of East Side High School.
On June 28, 1958, she married Bobby G. Goff at Lansdowne Baptist Church in East St. Louis. They settled in Belleville, but also lived in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii; Dayton, Ohio; Wetumpka, Alabama and Fairview Heights. After Bob's death she moved to Dallas, Georgia. At the time of her death, she was residing with her youngest daughter, Maile Aldridge in Bethlehem, Georgia.
Joyce was a homemaker who enjoyed decorating. Her passion was traveling. She visited all 50 states, and 10 foreign countries, Family and friends were taken along on her adventures. She was an active church member and always sang in the choir. She loved Christmas and spoiling her family. She worked as a secretary but also owned and operated a chocolate shop. She had a positive attitude and a deep faith in God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby G. Goff, who died Dec. 22, 1999; her parents, Frank "Buster" and Edna Mae, nee Wisehart, Burton; and her sister Marilyn (Stan) Hopp.
Mrs. Goff is survived by three daughters: Melinda (Ralph) Hult of Belleville; Terri (Marc) Singletary and Maile (Randy) Aldridge all of Bethlehem, Georgia. Her grandchildren, Jon (Melissa) Singletary, Kristin Johnson, Shannon (Eddie) Hernandez, Ashton (Nathaniel) Burtt, Dalton (Alyssa) Aldridge, Elizabeth (Ben) Collins and Hannah Aldridge. Her great-grandchildren: Jack, Lia, Ellie and Joshua Hernandez; Madison, Payton and Ansjey Burtt; Kate and Wyatt Singletary. Niece: Melissa (Peter) Henricks. Other relatives and life-long friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 4:00 PM at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL, with Pastor Nick Greenfield officiating. Burial is in Greenmount Protestant Cemetery. There will be no graveside services.
Memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at 2:30 PM at Hebron Baptist Church, 202 Hebron Church Road, Dacula, GA.
