Joy L. Freeland

Joy L. Freeland, age 80, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on January 30, 1940 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her residence.

Joy was a waitress at Miss Hullings Cafeteria in St. Louis, Missouri for 31 years. She more recently was a senior companion for P.S.O.P. in Belleville, Illinois for 15 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon W. Freeland; her parents, John and Helen, nee Lambert Burris; her sister, Doris Burrow; and her brother, John Burris.

She is survived by her son, Gordon “Gregory” Freeland; her sister, Mary E. Vosylius of St. Roberts, MO; and her four-legged companion, Harley.  Joy is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Backstoppers or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.  

Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m.  on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL with Reverend Andrew Wilson presiding.
