Sorry to learn of Joe's passing. What a great guy! Joe would help anybody! I know he really used to love helping Doug and his friends with any kind of car repair. There was nothing he couldn't figure out either. May he rest in peace!

I meant Joe through square dancing. Such a kind and patient man. My parents danced with Joe and Marilyn many years before. I took mom, Janetta Newsom, back to Dandy Dancers in her eighties and she renewed her love of square dancing. Condolences to the Obal family from the Newsom family.

I used to see Mr. Obal when I visited Doug during college. Doug had an awesome father. He was a kind, quiet, and hard-working man. My sincere condolences and prayers to his family. R.I.P. Mr. Obal.

My sympathies to you, Marilyn, & your family. My parents knew you & Joe for years. When Dad was bed fast, we played tapes of him calling dances, & he asked us if they were dancing, & we said yes. Marla (Wright) O'Ferrall

Deepest condolences to Marilyn, Joe’s children, and his entire family. We were Joe’s neighbor for the last 7 years, and I always enjoyed talking with him, when I would see him in the yard. A great neighbor. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. Rest easy, Joe.

My brother in law had a very good life, a hard worker, and a fine gentleman! I have been in his family for over 63 years, remember his wedding to my hubby’s sister, Marilyn, and have spent many nice family gatherings over these many years!
You will be missed, Joseph Obal!

Eternal rest grant onto Joe oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul along with the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace through the mercy of God our Father in Heaven. May he gather the fellow square dancers in heaven to enjoy another dance from his calling abilities as he looks at them from the microphone.

I knew Mr Obal when I worked for the City of O'Fallon. He was always such a kind and gentle man. I appreciated his demeanor whenever I met him. Such a gentleman farmer. Best wishes and prayers of comfort to his family.
