Jorge Lamas

Jorge Lamas, age 82, of Fairmont City, IL, born on August 16, 1941, in Zacatecas, Mexico, died on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Jorge worked on a farm for many years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Torbio Lamas and Diega Rosales; and his siblings, Getrudes Lamas, Marciana Lamas, Juan Lamas, Gonzala Lamas, Cleofas Lamas, Teresa Lamas, Lupe Lamas, Carmen Lamas, and Fela Lamas.

Jorge is survived by his wife, Maria J. Hernandez; his children, Guillermina Lamas, Carlos Lamas, Linda Lamas, Martha Lamas, Luis Lamas, and Juan Carlos Lamas; numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Visitation will also be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fairmont City, IL.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fairmont City, IL, with Fr. Harold Fisher officiating.  Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
