John P. Shaffer

John P. Shaffer, age 79, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on January 27, 1943, died on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at his residence.

John worked for Dellamano Distributing Company in Collinsville, IL for over 30 years and retired from Illinois Distributing.  He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed building doll houses and doll furniture, and shadow boxes.  John enjoyed bowling on Saturday nights at Midway Bowl and made his workbench out of the lanes at Midway Bowl.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Mae Shaffer, nee Holt; his daughter, Patricia Ann Marks; his parents, Joseph R. and Elizabeth, nee Droste Shaffer; and his siblings, Richard Shaffer, Robert Shaffer, William Shaffer, and Joan Hemmer.

John is survived by his daughter, Linda K. Shaffer of Fairview Heights, IL; his grandchildren, AJ (Alecia) Marks and Gregory (Andrea) Marks; his great-grandchildren, Little AJ Marks, and Trey, Alexander and Ali Marks; his siblings, Janet Schroeder, and Ann Merckel; and his son-in-law, Tony Marks.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.  at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, with Fr. Stan Konieczny officiating.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
