John R. Lett

John “Jack” R. Lett, 81, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on December 25, 1941 in E. St. Louis, IL, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

John was 1959 graduate of Assumption High School, E. St. Louis, IL. He was an U. S. Army Reservist stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood in 1961 and served as a reservist until 1969. John retired in 1995 after working 20 years as a civilian carpenter with the U. S. Coast Guard in St. Louis, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles G. and Margaret, nee Juenger, Lett Sr., brother Charles G. Lett Jr. and sister, Jean Corea.

John is survived by his daughters; Jaclynn Lett and Christine (Floyd) Miller; granddaughter, Morgan (Thomas) Darrah; sisters, Mary Margaret (Jim) Heuertz and Kathryn M. Lett; sister-in-law, Beverly Lett. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Burial of cremated remains will be held in a private family gathering at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL at a later date.
