Jason "J" Huerta

Jason “J” Huerta, age 46, of Belleville, IL, born on January 19, 1978, at Offutt A.F.B. in Omaha, NE, died on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

From the moment Jason was born, he embodied a free spirit. He spent his childhood in Omaha, Nebraska, and his teenage years in Arizona before moving to Belleville to help care for his dad. With a strong will, Jason was never easily swayed; it took a compelling argument to change his mind. Jason had a passion for history and chemistry and was exceptionally skilled at fixing things without a manual or written directions.  He cherished the time spent with his mom, nieces, and nephews as well as his precious cats Sativa, Indica, & Meatball. His presence will be deeply missed. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Anselmo Huerta; and his siblings, Nick Huerta, Frank Huerta, and Nita Styles.

Jason is survived by his mother, Kathleen M., nee Hanus Huerta; his brothers and sisters, Rita Huerta Suarez, Kathleen H. Huerta, Sam Huerta, Joe Huerta, Tony (Ronnie) Huerta, Robert (Susie) Huerta, JoAnn Huerta, and Sammy Huerta; and his nieces and nephews, Mileena Huerta, Jade Huerta, Dominick Huerta-Whitfield, Laura Flores, Ana Maria Suarez, Rosa Suarez, Adriana Suarez, Eduardo Suarez, and Alonso Suarez.  Jason is also survived by loving cousins and extended family.

Celebration of Life for Jason Troy Huerta will be held on September 27, 2024, at 4:00 pm at The Edge, Belleville, IL 62220.  Family to hold private interment.
