Jason Hamrick

John “Jason” Hamrick, age 43, of O’Fallon, IL, born on October 11, 1977 in Belleville, IL, died on April 10, 2021 at his residence.

Jason had a big heart and a big mind, and he used them both. He loved his family fiercely and his daughters were the light of his life. He was an immensely compassionate person who would do anything in his power to help anyone. Jason was an avid reader who constantly sought knowledge and truth. He was a spirited debater who always thought he was right...and he usually was. His quick wit, hilarious impressions, well told stories, and his mischievous grin could light up a room.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Margie Harris; his paternal grandparents, William H. and Eloise Hamrick; and his uncle, William V. Hamrick.

Jason is survived by his wife, Sarah A., nee Clements, Hamrick; his daughters, Sophia Eloise Hamrick and Emelia Ann Hamrick; his parents, John L. Hamrick of Troy, IL, and Jacqueline (David) Buesking of Fairview Heights, IL; his mother-in-law, Kathleen Calhoun of Fairview Heights, IL; his father-in law, Douglas (Victoria) Clements of Waterloo, IL; his grandmother, Jeanne Buesking of Shiloh, IL; his grandmother-in-law, Vera Schumacher of Fairview Heights, IL; his brothers, David Moehle of Fairview Heights, IL, and James Moehle of Swansea, IL; his aunts and uncles, Stephen (Karen) Harris, David (Tina) Harris, Becky (Danny) Reeb, Mark (Audrey) Harris, and Alona Daudel. He is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.

Memorials may be made to Sarah Hamrick for the benefit of their daughters’ education.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL with Pastor Hal Santos officiating.
