James L. Petroski

James L. Petroski, age 73, of Collinsville, IL, born on May 23, 1952 in East St. Louis, IL., died on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in Collinsville, IL.

James was a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran and was a self-employed construction contractor. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. James was loved by family and friends for his humorous personality and will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Agnes, nee Oravec Petroski; and his siblings, Joseph Petroski, Jr., and Mary Rennecamp Sietz.

James is survived by his sons, James (Amanda) Petroski, Jr., of Edwardsville, IL and Shawn (Mandy) Petroski of New Baden, IL; 7 grandchildren, Kylie, Stryder, Daphne, Thorin, Lennon, Annabelle and Brannon; his siblings, Ken (Rose) Petroski of Caseyville, IL, Patricia Berning of Hardin, KY, and Shirley Todd of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by an aunt, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL. Interment with military honors, will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
