Herb’s family lived on a farm in Lithuania. Life there was like the 1800’s in the United States. The Russians invaded their county in the 1940’s. Herb’s uncle lived in East St. Louis and sponsored Herb and his parents. They arrived in the New York Harbor on Thanksgiving Day; Herb was only 18. They had few possessions, no money, and did not speak English.
Herb was the owner/operator of Twin Service in Belleville, IL for 30 years. Herb and Reba traveled extensively throughout all 50 states, mostly driving in their RV. The most memorable night was a stay in the George Washington Mt. Vernon Home parking lot, so, Herb Endrijaitis slept there.
He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Endrijaitis; his parents, Endrius and Ona, nee Tenekys Endrijaitis; and his sisters, Lucy (John) Hill and Greta Lamar.
