Helen O'Truk

Helen O’Truk, nee Lesyganich, age 95, of Belleville, IL, born on August 14, 1927, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Helen married the love of her life, Tony O’Truk in June 1950 and was a devoted wife for 32 years until his death.  She worked for the Illinois Department of Employment Security for 13 years in East St. Louis until her second child was born.  Helen was a wonderful mother to her 3 children; she was always caring and provided a warm and loving home.  Helen cared deeply for her grandchildren, and you could always hear pride in her voice when she spoke about them.  Helen was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony N. O’Truk, who died in 1982; her parents, Mary, nee Kelemetz and Peter Lesyganich; her sister, Ann Wagner; and her brother, George Lesyganich.

Helen is survived by her children, Michael (Mary) O’Truk of Houston, TX, Carolyn (Mark) Keel of Shiloh, IL, and Mark (Jill) O’Truk of Belleville, IL; her grandchildren, Tony Keel, Justin Keel, Katherine O’Truk, Ben O’Truk, and Matt O’Truk; and her niece, Connie Wagner.

Memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church or to American Heart Association.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

A procession will leave Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
