Helen Gaskins Obituary

Helen Gaskins, nee Resnek, age 89, of Swansea, IL, born on July 19, 1931 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at her son’s residence.

Helen was a book binder and worked for 40 years at Buxton & Skinner Printing in St. Louis, MO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy H. Gaskins, Sr.; her daughter, Kathy Ann Gaskins; her parents, William and Helen, nee Sabo, Resnek; her father who raised her, Jack Richie; her brother, John Richie, Jr.; and her son-in-law, Jerry Cobb.

She is survived by her son, Guy Gaskins, Jr., of Wood River, IL; her sister, Jean Holder of Belleville, IL; and her 4-legged buddies, Sissy and Pedro, Lydia and Sheldon.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Kassly Mortuary in Fairview Heights, IL.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
