Gordon Lee Fantini, age 83, of Swansea, IL, born on October 18, 1940, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Cambridge House of Swansea, Swansea, IL.
Gordon was a United States Army Veteran. He was a former high school teacher at Kirkwood High School, loved to fish, was a train enthusiast and a World War II history buff. He was our loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bremner; his parents, Carmen and Doris, nee Smith Fantini; his brother, Gary Fantini; and his maternal grandparents, Tillman and Lola Smith.
Gordon is survived by his daughters, Laura (Dominick) Sylvester III of Fairview Heights, IL, and Tracy Fantini of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren, Dominick Sylvester IV, Sophia Spies and Madeline Spies; and his nieces, Sherri (Michael) Seibert of Fairview Heights, IL and Debra (Marc) Konopelski of Shiloh, IL.

Graveside Services and Interment will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Agatha Cemetery, New Athens, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. at Community of Christ Church, Shiloh, IL.
