Glen T. Soucy, age 88, of O’Fallon, IL, formerly of Belleville, IL and Benton, KY, born on August 22, 1933, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Memorial Hospital, Shiloh, IL.
Following a two-year Air Force enlistment, Glen entered the new field of mainframe computer programming in 1957. He worked in that field for several companies, including his own data processing service bureau until his retirement in 1988. In retirement, Glen could never sit still. He always had a project list. Glen was a painter, floor installer, electrician, auto mechanic and boat mechanic, to name a few. He loved spending time on Kentucky Lake. Glen and Mary Ellen were great friends and caregivers over the years. They truly “never met a stranger”. He loved his family and his favorite hobby was bragging about his five grandchildren. He was active in his Catholic faith throughout his life. Glen was a member of the parish council, finance committee, and Men’s Club at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. He was also a board member of Yesterday’s Kids at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O’Fallon, IL.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda A. Coker; his parents, Stephen and Mildred, nee Kretschmar, Soucy; and a brother, Louis Soucy.
Glen is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Ellen, nee Oberbauer, Soucy whom he married on July 16, 1955; two sons, Stephen (Christine) Soucy of Fairview Heights, IL, and Scott (Susan) Soucy of Kirkwood, MO; five grandchildren, Daniel (Krista) Soucy of Webster Groves, MO, Kimberly (Baback) Arshi of Ladue, MO, Elizabeth (Justin) Rancour of Kirkwood, MO, Michael Soucy of Burbank CA, and Matthew Soucy of Chicago, IL; five great-grandchildren, Russell, Violet, and Amelia Soucy, Adam Rancour, and Sophie Arshi; two sisters, Helen Soucy of Belleville, IL, and Ruth Ann (Jerry) Roth of Fulton, CA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O’Fallon, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Msgr. William Hitpas officiating. Private interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
