Gerold D. “Jerry” Woodring, age 74, of Caseyville, IL, born on November 18, 1948, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at his residence.
Jerry was a graduate of Collinsville High School, and the University of Missouri at Rolla with a degree in Chemical Engineering and was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Rolla, MO. He worked for Factory Mutual Global for 40 years. Jerry enjoyed old movies, playing golf, hunting and camping. He helped take care of his parents in their later years, and always put his family first.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Mildred, nee Sims Woodring.
Jerry is survived by his siblings, Terry Woodring of Bull Shoals, AR, Pamela (Al) Woodring-Brown of Caseyville, IL, and Kevin Woodring, Sr., of Troy, IL; his niece, Jessica (Deryck) Dietz of Wildwood, MO; his nephews, Kevin Woodring, Jr., of Troy, IL, and Kyle Woodring of Troy, IL; and his great nephews, Julian Dietz, Emerson Dietz, and Cameron Dietz. He is also survived by his aunt, Judy Zavaglia and his uncle, Robert (Kathy) Sims, as well as many other cousins.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Shriner’s Hospital, or to the American Heart Association.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL. Interment will be held in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
