Geraldine C. Sirtak, age 88, of Collinsville, IL, born on August 29, 1937 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Friday September 5, 2025 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.
Geraldine was a Police Dispatcher for Washington Park Police Department for 25 years. She was very proud of her career. She was a die-hard St. Louis Blues fan, never missing a game. She was a brutally honest person, you always knew where you stood with her. Geraldine loved and cherished her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Nellie, nee Starzyk, Nowak. Geraldine is also preceded by two brothers, Joseph Nowak and Frank Nowak.
Geraldine is survived by her children, Donna (Ralph) Zurheide of Fayetteville, IL, Lori (Denny) Wise of Collinsville, IL, and George Sirtak of Los Angeles, CA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Ashley (Kevin) Zurheide, Alexis Zurheide, Malaina (Edward) Hofnagle, Wayne (Julie) Strickland II, and Chelsy (Kurtis) Craft; her great grandchildren, Avery Albert, Natalie Strickland, Laurel Strickland, Mia Origliosso, Lincoln Johnson, and Rowan Johnson; and her siblings, Maryann (Charles) Lukasek and Steven (Betty) Nowak.
Donations in Geraldine’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
