Gail P. Felis, of Collinsville, IL, born August 4th, 1952 in St Louis, MO, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026 in Belleville, IL.
Gail found her happiness in the simple heartfelt moments shared with those she loved the most. She created countless cherished memories with her sons, Justin and Josh, through family camping trips where laughter and togetherness made everything feel right. The pride she carried for Justin’s service to our country and Josh for serving the community in medical care helped her write her songs and filled her heart with joy. They were the lights of her life.
She shared a special bond with her sisters, Beverly and Shirley. Gail and Shirley were the real life Lucy and Ethel. From dancing the night away at the club to watching classic scary movie festivals, there was always love and laughter when these best friends were together. She spent Sundays with her dear sister Beverly, attending church together and sharing countless conversations and smiles, leaving a lifetime of joyous memories.
Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her grandchildren. She took immense pride in raising her sweet little Austin from birth. She had a special bond with Maddie, taking her on walks with Bailey and sharing snuggles during game show hour. She enjoyed her time with Gavin, hearing about his day, sharing laughs and smiles, and always encouraged him to have a sense of adventure.
Gail is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mildred Felis; her brother-in-law Albert Hunter, Jr. (veteran, U.S. Army); her nephew-in-law Rufino Arbas, (USAF, ret.); her cousin, Karen Raymer; her nephew, Paul Anderson; and her beloved dog, Bailey (Day Day). Gail is survived by her sons, Justin (veteran, USAF) (Leslee) Felis and Josh (Monica Lograsso) Felis.
She also leaves behind her loving companion, Harvey Bacca; her eight grandchildren; Maryah Felis, Gavin Hofmann (CSSN USN), Madisyn Auvenshine, Austin Felis, Bella Felis, Summer Henson, Skylar Morrison, and Ethan Henson; and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Shirley Daniels and Beverly (Ronald) McDonald; her nieces, Sherry, Terri (Stephen) and Patty (Andrew); her beloved dog, Scruffy, and several friends.
