Frances E. "Cookie" Koszelnik

Frances E. “Cookie” Koszelnik, age 83, of Belleville, IL, born on January 24, 1942, in Fairmont City, IL, died on October 21, 2025.

Cookie spent her working career as a legal secretary. She was the past President of St. Clair County Legal Professionals Association. She was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, Collinsville, IL, former member and past President of Holy Rosary Ladies Sodality, Fairmont City, IL, and the St. Jacob Lion’s Club.

Cookie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Helen, nee Yakubovich Koszelnik.

She is survived by her sister, Carol Thilman; her nephews, Charles A. (Lisa M.) Thilman and Craig A. (MaryPat) Thilman; grandniece, Ashleigh Kate Thilman; grandnephews, Charles Alexander Thilman and Christopher Frank Thilman; godchildren, John (Belinda) Yakubovich, Lisa (Gary) Petty, Brandy Redwine, Billy Redwine and Tracie Barton; god grandsons, Brendan, Declan and Jaxan Redwine and Michael and Matthew Koeninger; special friends, Sherrie and Bill Ponder and the Ponder/Mourey Families, Joan Menn, Noella Clark and Mary Martinez.  Cookie is also survived by many cousins and friends.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL.

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL., with Rev. Kenneth York officiating. 

Interment will follow in St. Adalbert Cemetery.
