Betty L. Martz, nee Cronin, 91, of Millstadt, IL., born May 28, 1931, in East St. Louis, IL, died Friday, April 28, 2023, at home.
Betty was a lifetime member of the Caseyville Township Democratic Club and Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, past President of the St. Clair County Democratic Women's Club and former board member and officer on the Illinois Department on Aging. She was Charter President of the Knights of Columbus 592 Ladies Auxiliary. She was past member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She worked for AG Edwards, East St Louis Park District and St Clair County as the Personnel and Fringe Benefits Manager.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Edward Martz, Sr, her beloved son, Richard Edward Martz, Jr; her parents, Patrick J. and Brigid “Ethel”, nee Waters, Cronin; five siblings, John (Dorothy) Cronin, James (Dorothy) Cronin, Florence (Charles) Baricevic, Patrick (Mary “Nikki”) Cronin and Marlene (Matthew) Kimutis. her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Al and Cecelia Ames Martz; brothers-in-law, George Martz and Allan Martz; nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann (Mel) Barnum; 4 grandchildren, Brenda (J.R.) Ewing, Samantha (Ricky Howard) Barnum, Joseph (Katherine Saunders) Barnum, and Morgan Barnum; a sister-in-law, Carole Martz; also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, many cherished friends, and her St. Clair County family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians service will be held at 11:30 a.m., with a St. Clair Women’s Club Service at 11:45 a.m.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL. Interment will be held in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
