Earlyne “Aunt Buzz” Piquard, age 78, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on April 1, 1947, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Monday, July 7, 2025 at St. Paul’s Home, Belleville, IL.
Earlyne was referred to as “Aunt Buzz” by her nieces. She was raised in Granite City, IL and active in gymnastics, ballet, and square dancing with the Checkerboard Squares. She was employed by Lewis-Howe Company (Tum’s), Laclede Steel and Curtis-Toledo in St. Louis, MO. Earlyne retired from Alton Steel in Alton, IL as a buyer after 25 years of service. She loved traveling, music and dancing. She and her companion, Jim, had many local bands they enjoyed and spent 25 years together making many great friends through music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Shirley, nee Fietsam Schiber; and her companion, Dr. James Hart, M.D.
Earlyne is survived by her sister, Christine L. Krug (Donald Moore) of Belleville, IL; her nieces, Nicole (Tim) Palmer of Kissimmee, FL and Alicia Krug of Belleville, IL; and her great niece, Natalie Mae Palmer.
Memorials are preferred in the form of masses to her church or to American Heart Association.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL, with Fr. Carl Schrage officiating. Interment will be in St. Agatha Catholic Cemetery, New Athens, IL.
