Doris A. Weissert Obituary

Doris A. Weissert, nee Trebilcock, age 84, of Fairview Heights, IL, born October 13, 1937, in St. Louis, MO, died on Monday, November 8, 2021, at Sycamore Village in Swansea, IL.  She reunited with her loving husband, Bud, on the day of their 63rd wedding anniversary. 

Mrs. Weissert was a homemaker first and worked in the secretarial field up until her retirement years.  She loved her family and enjoyed planning and attending family gatherings.  Mrs. Weissert was an active member of St. Albert the Great/Holy Trinity East Church in Fairview Heights, IL, for many years.  She also donated her time at the Fairview Heights Food Pantry. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth “Bud” Weissert; her parents, Fred and Dolores, nee Mitulski, Trebilcock; and a sister, Joyce Trebilcock.

She is survived by 2 sons, Thomas R. (Jane) Weissert of Faribault, MN, and Daniel W. (fiancée Linda Berberich) of Lebanon, IL; 5 grandchildren, Erica (Brian) Howard, Kimberly (Chris) Gher, Kristen (Ben) Richardson, Drake Weissert, and Kendall Weissert; 4 great-grandchildren, Phoebe Richardson, Lillian Richardson, Amelia Richardson, and Rowan Gher; 1 brother, Fred (Mary) Trebilcock, and numerous extended family and friends. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairview Heights Food Pantry, Alzheimer’s Association, or VITAS Hospice Healthcare.

Due to COVID-19, there will be a private visitation and service for immediate family only. 

Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
