Dolores T. (Modrow) Kassly

Dolores T. Kassly, age 99, passed away on December 20, 2021, at Liberty Village, Maryville, IL, where she had resided for the past six years.

Dolores was born on November 21, 1922, in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of Perry F. and Adele M. nee, Fickinger Modrow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. Kassly; her daughter, Marianne A. Kassly; her grandchildren, Kristen N. Reinhart, Scott A. Reinhart, and Scott M. Reinhart; her sister, Margaret A. “Margie” Maxwell; and her son-in-law, Myron W. Brigman.

Mrs. Kassly attended Holy Angels School, East St. Louis, IL and the Academy of Notre Dame, Belleville, IL.  She worked as a secretary at National City Stockyards, and later at an East St. Louis law firm, where she met the love of her life, Walter A. Kassly.  After getting married, Mrs. Kassly was a homemaker.  She was active in numerous civic and social organizations in St. Clair County, serving as an officer in several. 

Mrs. Kassly is survived by her daughters: Carol K. Brigman of Springfield, IL, and Christine E. Reinhart (Rick) of Bethalto, IL; her grandchildren, Brian A. (Sara) Reinhart of San Diego, CA; Emily T. (Ed)  Brigman  of Springfield, IL;  and James M. (Erica) Brigman of St. Louis, MO; and her great-grandson Milo J. Brigman of St. Louis, MO.

Private graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
