Diana Sue Sweitzer Obituary
Diana Sue Sweitzer, age 70, of Centralia, IL, born on November 22, 1954, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Centralia, IL.
Diana’s Cerebral Palsy labeled her as disabled, but those who knew her recognized a deep, strong-willed woman who loved life. A person who was resilient and persevered through many challenges. Her communication skills were powerful and were conveyed through her body language, facial expressions and nonverbal cues. Diana challenged us to look past her physical appearance and instead see her in-depth personality. Her laughter and beautiful smile would pierce one’s heart. She taught us how to be hopeful and grateful. Her life has, and will continue to be, inspiring.
She was beloved and treasured by her late parents, Eva, nee Bieniek and Clyde Sweitzer; her brothers, Billy Sweitzer, Jackie Lee Sweitzer, and Ronald Sweitzer.
Diana is survived by her siblings, Loretta King of Cape Girardeau, MO, Charlie (Merlyn) Sweitzer of Warrenton, MO, Kenneth “Ray” (Carol Yvonne) Sweitzer of Caseyville, IL, Larry (Linda) Sweitzer of Mt. Washington, KY, and Linda (Michael) Nance of Collinsville, IL. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and her long-time loving and caring friends at the Warren G. Murray Developmental Center in Centralia, IL.
