Dennis R. Parmeley

Dennis R. Parmeley, age 76, of Caseyville, IL, born on February 2, 1947, in St. Louis MO, died on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Dennis was a United States Army Veteran and was a railroad car inspector for Alton & Southern for 30 years.  He loved spending time with family and his grandchildren.  Dennis played basketball, fast pitch and slow pitch softball in his younger days.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, enjoyed bowling in a league with his sons and other family members, watching his sons and grandchildren’s recreational activities, listening to music, and attending church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene, nee Jones and Melvin Parmeley; and his brothers, Melvin Parmeley and Gerald Parmeley.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Linda C., nee Smith Parmeley of 52 years; his children, Richard D. (Sara) Parmeley, Christopher M. (Melissa) Parmeley and Jeffrey S. (Brandy) Parmeley; his grandchildren, Mason Parmeley, Landon Parmeley, Logan Parmeley, Lydia Parmeley, and Addison Parmeley; and his brother, Kenneth Parmeley.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Revive Church, Collinsville, IL.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, with Pastor Myles Holmes officiating.  Interment will be held in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
