Dave Rebik Obituary

Dave E. Rebik age 68, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on February 12, 1955, in Marshalltown, IA, died on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in Silsbee, TX.

Dave was a United States Air Force Veteran serving for 20 years and continued to work for the Department of Defense until his retirement in 2019. He enjoyed good coffee and cold milk.  Dave loved to research and plan trips that he would take with Marla, his partner in all (but crime). He liked programming, gaming, watching a good show or movie, and was a life member VFW Post 7980, Millstadt, IL. Dave was a prolific reader, and usually had a paperback or an e-reader (finally) in the event of emergency boredom. When Dave traveled, he always had his camera with him, and he took beautiful pictures.  He lived life simply, took fashion cues from no one, and talked to all with a dry and witty sense of humor.  Dave was a thoughtful, stubborn, and complex man who left this life far too soon.

He was preceded  in death by his father, Hubert J. Rebik.

Dave is survived by his loving partner of over 20 years, Marla Getty; his daughters, Jennifer (Salvatore) Diliberto, Jessica Rebik, and Sharon (Karl) Malkowski; Marla’s daughter, Jania Getty; his grandchildren, Alexandria (Nathan) DeRousse, Samuel Dilberto, Emmalina Diliberto, Lillyanna Diliberto, Joshua (Samantha) Malkowski, and Jason Malkowski; his great grandchildren, Cooper Malkowski and Bristol Malkowski; his mother, Donna J. Dykes, nee Grandgeorge; and his siblings, Janis Hamm, Karen Lawrence, and James Rebik.
