Daniel R. Whedbee

Daniel R. “Doc” Whedbee, age 80, of Swansea, IL, born on May 15, 1945, died on December 7, 2025 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.  

Doc was a proud Vietnam Army veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, flying R/C airplanes, playing games, especially Scrabble and Words with Friends, Rock Steady Boxing Program at the Fairview Heights Rec and he was an avid Oklahoma Sooners Football Fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Richard “R.D.” and Laverne Clopton Whedbee.

Doc is survived by his children; Tammy (Duwayne) Leonard and Richard “Rick” (Kim) Whedbee; grandchildren, Jacob Whedbee, Keegan (Lora) Leonard, Loren Whedbee, and Brayden Leonard; siblings, Michael Whedbee, Dianna Whedbee, and Rick Whedbee.

Donations are preferred to any cancer, Parkinson’s, or a dementia charitable organization of your choice. 

Memorial visitation will be held on December 14, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Christian Church, 775 North Greenmount Road, Belleville, IL.

A private family burial, with military honors, will take place at a later date in Arkansas.
