Cornelius P. "Neil" Sullivan, Sr.

Cornelius P. “Neil” Sullivan, Sr., age 90, of Lebanon, IL, formerly of Highland, IL, born on June 21, 1933, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Monday, January 22, 2024, at San Gabriel Memory Care, Highland, IL.

Neil was a United States Army Korean War Veteran.  He was a Chemical Engineer for Monsanto Chemical in Sauget, IL for over 30 years.  Neil later worked at Dillard’s at St. Clair Square in the men’s department for 20 years.  He enjoyed bowling leagues and golf and was a member of the VFW Post 1239  of Aviston, IL.  Neil has been dancing since he was in grade school and loved to show off his tap dancing skills.  He also danced in a Muny Opera musical. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys R., nee Bova Sullivan; and his parents, Cornelius and Letha, nee Jackson Sullivan.

Neil is survived by his children, Kathleen Barttelbort of Lebanon, IL, and Cornelius P. “Pat” Sullivan, Jr., of Coarsegold, CA and his granddaughter, Karissa Barttelbort of St. Louis, MO.  He was  also our loving brother-in-law, and uncle.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.  Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, IL.
