Claudia L. Busiek, M.D., nee Butler, age 71, of Fairview Heights, IL, formerly of Webster Groves, MO, born on January 2, 1952, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Monday, December 18, 2023, at her residence.
Claudia was born and raised in the Metro-East and was a graduate of St. Louis University and St. Louis University School of Medicine. She completed internal medicine training at Jewish Hospital at Washington University, St. Louis, MO. Dr. Busiek practiced internal medicine in Florissant, MO on the medical staff of Christian Hospital and DePaul Hospital. She subsequently practiced at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, MO. In semi-retirement, Claudia delivered primary care service at Southeast Medical Center in Stoddard County, MO. She also provided resident physician training at People’s Health Clinic, St. Louis, MO, until she was forced into retirement by the development of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lorraine, nee Ford Butler.
Claudia is survived by her husband, Donald F. Busiek, M.D.; her sons, Brian Busiek (Sara Mitenbuler) of Portland, OR, and Eric Busiek (Sarah Barton) of Milwaukee, WI; her grandchildren, Annette, Esther, Francis, Eldon, Lowell and Eugene; her sister, Andrea (Michael) Schaefer of Goose Creek, MO; and her in-laws, Diane (Tim) Murphy of Imperial, MO, Susan Battig of Godfrey, IL, and Gary Busiek (Mary Truetken) of Imperial, MO.

Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
