Christopher "Opey" Hahn, age 35, of Alton, IL, born on June 12, 1984 in Belleville, IL, died on January 23, 2020 at his residence.
Opey was a loving dad, son, brother, uncle and friend. Every day he strived to live. He didn't care if he got into trouble, he just lived everyday as if it was his last. With him, there was never a dull moment. Opey always knew how to make people laugh or smile, no matter the situation. He always came off as a tough guy, but he had a big heart. If he had it, you had it. Even if that meant giving you the clothes off of his back. Also, whether he ever wanted to admit it or not, Opey was a family man. No matter what he went through with his family members, if you called and needed his help, he was there, no matter the situation. He also loved being with his kids. When he was with them, he was the happiest. Anyone that knew Opey, knew he valued time with his kids. Opey also had so many hobbies and interests. He would never just sit around, and if he did, he was quick to fall asleep. Opey was very hands on and creative. He could take something old and make it new or build something from scratch, and was good at it too. Opey loved working on cars and tattoos. He was a very artistic and a creative person. Opey really just had a great personality that always lit up a room and that is why he had so many friends and family around him all of the time. Although Opey is gone, we will never forget his contagious smile, good heart and the fun times we shared. He was a strong person, and he will forever be in our hearts. Gone but not forgotten, Long Live Opey!
He was preceded in death by his dad, William Hahn; and his sister, Rebecca Pannell.
