Cheryl L. "Sherry" Reaka

Cheryl “Sherry” Lynne Reaka, 64, of East St. Louis, IL, born on June 13, 1960, in Belleville, IL, died on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, surrounded by her stepchildren.

Sherry dedicated her work to Abbott EMS.  She loved spending time with her family, chocolate, watching her step grandchildren participate in their extracurricular activities, and she enjoyed being with her husband fishing and watching sports. 

Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy A. Reaka, Sr; her stepson, Toby E. Reaka, Sr.; her stepson-in-law, James Mays; her sister-in-law, Tracy Spengler; and her brother-in-law, Phil Hoehner.

She is survived by her stepchildren, Teddy A. (Jennifer) Reaka of Breese, IL, Tabitha L. Mays of Belleville, IL; stepdaughter-in-law, Jennifer Reaka of Swansea, IL;  her step grandchildren, Toby Reaka, Jr., Tyler Gorsich, Taylor Reaka, Tanner Reaka, Anna Mays, Ty Reaka, Tristin Mays, Trevor Mays, and Tia Reaka; her step great grandchild, Eliana Reaka; her brother and sisters-in-law,  Terry (Sue) Reaka, Tim (Deb) Reaka, Tom (Margie) Reaka, Tana (Steve) Smallwood, Toni Hoehner, Tyler (Mary) Reaka, Tammy (Tommy) Thousand, and Mike Spengler; and her furry friend, Bandit, the cat. 

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Humane Society of Belleville, IL.

A Celebration of Sherry’s Life will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL.
