Charles E. “Chuck” Gallaher, age 96, of Collinsville, IL, born on September 25, 1928 in Caseyville, IL, died on Thursday, December 19, 2024.
Chuck was a carpenter and a member of union Local 295. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Chuck was a lifetime member of VFW Collinsville Post 265. He was also a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Caseyville, IL. Chuck loved to fish, hunt and play card games. He always looked forward to family parties and get togethers.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Georgia Lawrence; his parents, Terry and Frances, nee Dusenberry, Gallaher; and his siblings, George Gallaher, James Gallaher, and Frances Gallaher.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Bernice M. Gallaher, nee Hofmann; his children, Sharon Zelch, Carolyn Donahue, Pati Heatherly, and Linda Mueller; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and his sister, Marilyn Adams.
Memorials may be made to St. Stephen’s Catholic Church Memorial Fund.
Funeral service will be on Monday December 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, with Father Harold Fisher officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
