Charles R. “Butch” Duba, age 75, of Belleville, IL, born on February 10, 1946 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Butch was a union laborer for the last 32 years from Laborers’ Local #459, of Belleville, IL. Charles was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a Marine. Butch was a semi-pro boxer and practiced karate with the styles of Shorin Ryu and Matsubayashi Ryu. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved fishing, and hunting of quail, pheasant, and deer. He also trained English Setters, English Pointers, and Brittany Spaniels.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Charles Duba; his parents, Charles Augustos and Mary Sophia, nee Stanley, Duba; and his brothers, Phillip Duba and Jimmy Ray Duba.
Butch is survived by his wife of 41 years, Theresa Jude, nee Jokisch, Duba; his son Tim (Katie) Duba of Collinsville, Il; his grandchildren, Jeremy Duba and Jessica Bone; 3 great grandchildren; his sister, Shirley Harrison of Wood River, IL; his nephew and niece, Billy Joe ( Kara) Harrison of East Alton, IL, and Lisa Harrison Raymond of Wood River, IL. He was the great uncle of Cassidy Stanton, Kayla Harrison (Isaac Morckel), Andrew Raymond, Kelsey Harrison, and Josh (Alexandria) Harrison. He was also the great-great uncle of Kaden Harrison, Jace Stanton, and Lucas and Brooklyn Morckel.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Matt Elie officiating. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
