Charlene R. Shultz, of Collinsville, IL, born in St. Louis, MO, died on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Charlene graduated from East St. Louis High School. She worked at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL, as a unit secretary for 9 years and had also worked for Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Caseyville, IL. She enjoyed being with her family, especially the grandchildren, playing practical jokes on her relatives, growing flowers, and playing poker with her family. She was especially proud of her grandchildren, her sons, and her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond D. Shultz, Sr.; her father, Loren H. Wilson; her mother, Margaret Michaels, nee McElligott; her brother, Larry Wilson; and her sisters, Margaret Ann (Mickey) Wilson in infancy, and Lorraine Young.
Charlene is survived by her sons, Raymond D. (Diane) Shultz, Jr., and Steven M. (Aida) Shultz; her grandchildren, Jennifer Moll, Andrew Shultz, Kimberly Hanks, Nicky Smith, April Elliott, and Clayton Elliott; and her great grandchildren, Elizabeth Moll, Emma Moll, Laura Hanks, Michael Hanks, Thea Hanks, Charlie Smith, Zoey Smith, Coleman Smith, and Izzy Edmundson.
You will never be forgotten, for though we are apart, you are always and forever alive within our hearts.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL. Funeral procession will leave Kassly Mortuary at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023 for a 9:15 a.m. graveside burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
