Cecilia Mancinas

Cecilia M. Mancinas, nee Egan, age 96, of Swansea, IL, formerly of Millstadt, IL, born on December 13, 1924 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Mercy Rehab and Care Center, Swansea, IL.

Cecilia received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from SIU-E.  She then worked for over 20 years as a Procurement Specialist for the United States Army Aviation Systems Command in St. Louis, MO.  Cecilia was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, Queenship of Mary Sodality and helped with Project Linus in making blankets for children in need. Cecilia was a lifelong caregiver and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Mancinas, who died in 1966; her grandson, Michael Kilgore; her parents, David and Rose, nee Beecher Egan; and her siblings, Nellie Daschke, Henry “Rollie” Egan, Isabelle Pasterski, Eddie Egan and Ruth Neill.

She is survived by her children, Virginia (David) McKim of Collinsville, IL, Tim Mancinas of Waterloo, IL, Kay Kilgore of Millstadt, IL, and Angie (Ken) Nettleton of Swansea, IL; her grandchildren, Karrie Vanhooser, Jennifer McKim, Tim Mancinas, Michelle Thompson, John Kilgore II, Julie Walsh, Kelly Gannon and Candice Mueller; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Mercy Rehab for the loving care given to Cecilia, and Father Bill McGhee for his many visits.

Memorials may be made to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital or to St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, Belleville, IL.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 10:00 am. at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Bill McGhee officiating.  Burial of cremated remains will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
