Cecil Bruce Obituary

Cecil Eugene "Pappy" Bruce, age 90, of Fairview Heights, IL, died on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 in St. Louis, MO.

Cecil retired after 20 years from the United States Navy where he served from 1947 to 1967 in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the VFW Post #1117 Caseyville, IL, the American Legion and DAV Post #24, Caseyville, IL. Cecil later worked as a distribution manager at Kroger Foods in St. Louis, MO for 18 years.

Cecil is preceded in death by his wife who died in 1993, Margaret L. "Sally" Bruce, nee Shank; his parents, John and Effie, nee Wilhoyte, Bruce; a brother, Robert Joe Bruce; and a sister, Dorothy Ellen Bruce.

He is survived by his dear friend of 26 years, Judy Lund of Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral procession will leave Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. for a 1:30 p.m. graveside service with military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
