Carolyn H. Greten

Carolyn H. Greten, nee Kugler, age 91, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on September 16, 1932, in Lenzburg, IL, died on Thursday, August 1, 2024.

Carolyn was a loving wife and mother. She was a faithful volunteer for many years at St. Albert the Great Catholic Parish in Fairview Heights, IL, working many hours in the school cafeteria and at fish frys.  She also served as the church organist. Carolyn later worked as the parish secretary for St. Nicholas Catholic Church in O’Fallon, IL.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sonja Tarvin; her step grandson, Bentley Tarvin; her parents, Paul S. and Elvira T., nee Crunelle, Kugler; her brothers, Donald (Rita) Kugler, and Lylie Kugler; and her son-in-law, David Tarvin.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Lambert G. Greten; her daughters, Pamela (Jonathan) Allan of Rochester, MN, and Brenda Tarvin of Fairview Heights, IL; her 3 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren; her brother, Michael Kugler of Kentucky; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorials are preferred to Holy Trinity Catholic Church Debt Reduction Fund.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

A funeral procession will leave Kassly Mortuary at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024 to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL, for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, with Father Carl Schrage officiating. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
