Carol Ann Verges

Carol Ann (Cadell) Verges was born February 9, 1957  in Fairfield, California to Joseph Cadell and Clara Ann (Joergensen) Cadell. She left this world March 29, 2026, in Belleville, IL, at the age of 69. 

She was united in marriage to Jerry Verges on December 30, 1988.  

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph H. and Clara Ann (Joergensen) Cadell, her brother Michael J. Cadell and sister Virginia (Ginny) Marshall. 

Survivors to mourn her passing include her husband, Jerry Verges; her children, Anthony (Tony) Mueller and Joseph (Joe) Mueller; her stepson, Charlie Verges; her stepdaughter, Mary Edith Verges; her granddaughters, Brooke Mueller, Kennedy Mueller, and Charlie Verges; her siblings, Ellen Roberts, David (Carmen) Cadell, Kathleen (Hank) Greer, Patricia Cadell, Stanley (Rhonda) Cadell, and Marybeth (Tim) Casper.  She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, her dearest friend, Debbie Fravel, and her dogs Buddy and Bear; and a plethora of other family members and friends who will share in our sorrow of missing her. 

Carol was a stay-at-home mom for many years who loved to take care of the house, her spouse, children and grandchildren.  Her first love was Jerry and her grandchildren, but the St. Louis Cardinals came in very close behind. Carol absolutely loved her Friday night bingo in Caseyville.  Carol loved to travel anytime possible, if just down the street for ice cream or to another state to visit family. She enjoyed meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. If Carol was here today and you are not where you want to be in life, she would tell you to work hard and do what makes you happy. 

Carol was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Carol will be truly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd. Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.  Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
