Carol Lee Soltys

Carol Lee Soltys, age 80, of Swansea, IL, born on November 8, 1942, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Belleville Memorial Hospital, IL.

Carol was a 1960 graduate of St. Teresa Academy; she went on to become a registered nurse, last working at Notre Dame Surgical Center. She retired after 45 years. She was a member of St. Teresa Academy Friends, Polish American Ladies Club, St. Clair Women’s Club and the Red Hats. Carol loved to play a variety of card games and hit the casinos.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Soltys; her parents, Tony and Ann (Shantek) Lemansky; brother, Tony Lemansky; and granddaughter, Ansley Soltys.

Carol is survived by her children; Dr. Robert Soltys of Driftwood, TX, and Dr. Scott (Dr. Clara Choi) Soltys; grandchildren, Adeleine and Anson Soltys; and her sister, Kathy (Dr. Jan Mehelic) Lemansky

Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.   

Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL., with Father Jim Nall officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
