Camille F. Emig-Hill

Camille F. Emig-Hill, age 71, of Maryville, IL, born on February 8, 1950, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Christian Northeast Extended Care, St. Louis, MO.

Camille graduated from St. Teresa Academy in East St. Louis, Class of 1968. She achieved a bachelor’s in mass communications and journalism in 1972 and a master’s in business administration in 1977 from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (SIUE) and received the Distinguished Service Award from SIUE in 2016.

While working on her undergraduate degree, Camille worked at the Alestle, where she held many positions from reporter to editor. She also met her husband at the campus newspaper. Bob Emig was the sports editor at the time. After graduating from SIUE, Camille began her career in business communications with Ralston Purina. Later, she worked for 30 years at Anheuser-Busch and retired as director of human resources shared services.  Camille will be remembered for her faith and trust in God and her ministry work, especially on the church bulletin, as the human resource administrator, co-chair of capital campaign, stewardship ministry, and parish council at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bob Emig; her parents, Louis and Mary, nee Lovranits Odolich; and her stepdaughter in infancy, Mary Catherine Hill.

Camille is survived by her husband, Brad Hill; her children, Aaron Emig (fiancé, Jennifer Jones), of O’Fallon, IL, Adam (Tina) Emig of St. Louis, MO, and Matthew (Ally) Emig of New Orleans, LA,  stepdaughter, Jennifer (Matt) Schwartz of Lawrence, KS, and stepson, Dr. Chris (Cori) Hill, D.M.D. of St. Louis, MO; and her grandchildren, Samuel, Blair, Everett, Harrison, Oliver, Tucker and Beckett.  Camille was also our loving sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Ss Peter & Paul Catholic School Angel Fund.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, August 5, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. all at Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, IL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, IL, with Fr. John Beveridge officiating.  Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
