C. Richard Kress

C. Richard Kress, age 85, of Caseyville, IL, born on June 28, 1939, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Richard was a former truck driver with Fults Trucking in Millstadt, IL.  He enjoyed riding his motorcycles with his last bike being a Harley Davidson trike.  In his spare time, he did mechanical work on his motorcycles and cars.  He was very close to his wife, children, nephews, great nephews, grandchildren and his bonus grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn, nee Marshall Kress who died in 1978; his parents, Albert and Julie, nee Strait Kress; and his siblings, Albert (Dolores) Kress, Lorraine (Robert) Joshu, and Dolores (Thornton) Opperman.

Richard is survived by his wife, Jayne E., nee Wilkinson Kress; his four sons, Michael (Dixie) Kress of Sauget, IL, Brian (Margaret) Kress of Waterloo, IL, Kevin (Marisa Haines) Kress of Caseyville, IL, and Casey (Emily) Kress of Spring, TX; his grandchildren, Tiffany Kohler, Brett Kress, Madilynn Kress, Makenna Kress, Aiden Kress, Landon Kress, Laynie Kress, Stella Kress, Charlotte Kress, and Harrison Kress, and many, many, many bonus grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caseyville, IL.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caseyville, IL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caseyville, IL., with Fr. Jim Fee officiating.  Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
