Betty J. Evans

Betty J. Evans, age 92, of Edwardsville, IL formerly of Fairview Heights, IL, born on July 20, 1932, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Monday, June 2, 2025, at LaBella of Edwardsville.

Betty is a member of the Fairview Heights Church of Christ. She formerly was very active in the Fairview Khoury League and Fairview Heights Recreation Association.  She retired as Vice President and Loan Officer for Regions Bank and previously Bank of Belleville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Wade Evans; her son, Fred J. Buchholz; her grandson, Cory Evans; her parents, John and Ollie, nee Phipps Higgins; and her siblings, Sue Bartley and Harold Higgins.

Betty is survived by her children, Kathy M. (Rich) Yarber of Edwardsville, IL, and Stephen R. (Rhonda) Evans of Collinsville, IL; her grandchildren, Chris (Mandy) Yarber, Alexandra Yarber, and Chelsea (Alex) Giddings; and her great grandchildren, Olivia Yarber, Brady Giddings, and Brantley Giddings.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL with Joe Taylor officiating.  Burial of cremated remains will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
