Betty S. Pearson

Betty S. Pearson, age 93, of Freeburg, IL, formerly of Fairview Heights, IL, born on November 30, 1929, in Bardwell, KY, died on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Freeburg Care Center, Freeburg, IL.

Betty was a photographic assistant for Ringhofer Photography. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Knights of Columbus Council #592, Holy Trinity Quilting Club, and a past member of the Kresge Club in East St. Louis, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Pearson; her parents, Fannie, nee Helton and Burrice Beard; her brother, Homer Beard; and her sisters, Georgie Martin, and Martha Hitchens.

Betty is survived by her children, James C. (Susan) Pearson of Kirkwood, MO, Thomas G. (Margy) Pearson of Belleville, IL, and Brenda A. (Chris) Johnston of Swansea, IL; her grandchildren, Lindsey (Andrew) Pautler, James B. Pearson, TJ Pearson, and Joey Pearson; her great-grandchildren, Hannah Pautler, Campbell Pautler, Noah Pautler, and Caleb Pautler; and her sister, Lou Oliver, of Troy, IL.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. with Fr. James Nall officiating.  Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
